Food Availability 
You will get simple Dhaba food at Sankri, Gangad, Taluka, and Seema. For the rest of the trek pack the essential food. You wonÕt get any food at the higher altitudes of trek, so the best option is the stock up the consumable items at the Dhaba at Sonamarg. Carry enough packed food to get you through the trip.

Camping/Shelter 
Although guest houses are available at Seema, trekkers likes to camp along the way especially amid the natural beauty of the place.
The place is best known for its trekking and thus most of the visitors like to camp. You wonÕt find any guesthouses during your seven-day trekking in the region.



Water Availability 
Water availability at the guest house is adequate. You will also have an option of clean water from River Supin along the way. It is suggested to well stock up water whenever the refilling option is available. Packed water is available at the beginning of the trek at a Dhaba in Sonamarg. However, after that, you will get several freshwater rivers and streams to refill your stock of water. It will be recommended to stock up enough amount of water at the start to avoid dehydration and till you get a chance to restock.

General tips and tricks 
1. Make sure you carry warm clothes irrespective of the fact that what season you are traveling in. 2. Carry your own trekking gear and equipments and be always prepared. 3. Carry a medical aid kit and your usual medicines for the way. 4. A good pair of trekking shoes is a must. 5. Carry raingear no matter if you are traveling during monsoon season. 6. Make sure you obtain all the permits well in advance required for trekking in the region. 7. Make sure you carry spare batteries and film roll for the camera as there will be no electricity supply. 8. A well informed and trained guide is very important and does make sure to seek out all trivial things well in advance to avoid misunderstanding.

How to reach Har ki Dun 
Rail: Jammu serves as the nearest railway station to Srinagar, situated at a distance of about 290 km. The station is well connected to all the major cities of the country through regular trains. There are also direct trains to the place from the cities like Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, and Trivandrum.

Road: National Highway 1A links Srinagar to the rest of the country. Once you reached Jammu, regular bus services apply from there under J & K state government till Srinagar. The journey takes about 10 hours.
